North Dakota Motorcycle Accident Leads To Injuries

An elderly couple was injured recently in a North Dakota Motorcycle accident with a SUV. Car accidents like this are, unfortunately, are all too common and are actually a growing concern for many motorcycle riders — especially while the weather is still nice. These accidents are known to cause serious to fatal injuries to bikers and typically require comprehensive medical care.

The crash occurred at the end of July on a local road in Sioux Falls. The driver of an SUV, a 35-year-old male, was heading north when he attempted a left-hand turn and struck a motorcycle in the southbound lane. The couple, a husband and wife in their mid 70s, were transported to an area hospital with unspecified injuries. It is unknown if they were wearing any safety gear.

The road was already closed to one lane in each direction due to a construction project on the street. The accident completely closed the roadway while police worked the scene. According to news reports, the driver deemed responsible for this crash was cited for failing to yield the right of way.

Car accidents, particularly those involving motorcycles, often result in injuries. The elderly couple who, thankfully, survived this specific incident may require extensive medical care and rehabilitation in order to recover from the injuries they suffered. This care can come at a significant cost, infringing upon their future financial outlook. Each victim retains the right to file a personal injury claim against the individual thought responsible for the incident. A North Dakota civil court could grant this couple financial compensation for the monetary losses they have suffered and provide for their pain and suffering — if the driver is indeed found liable.
