North Dakota Construction Jobs Can Lead to Injuries

Construction workers across the United States face some dangerous working conditions on a daily basis. This is also true for those who choose North Dakota construction jobs as their line of work. Work related injuries happen quite frequently and those affected may not be sure what to do after the fact.

In order to reduce construction work related injuries, safety regulations have been put in place. Unfortunately, accidents do still occur. When they do, those injured may wonder who is liable for their injury. The specific circumstances surrounding the incident can change the answer to that question, but some of the individuals that may be held accountable include:

  • Construction site owner
  • Contractors
  • Architects and engineers
  • Construction machinery manufacturers

If an injury does occur while on the job, there are certain steps employees may want to take in order to get the help they need and ensure their rights are being protected. Some of these steps include seeking medical attention right away, reporting the injury to the site manager or employer and getting names and contact information for any possible witnesses to the incident. Understanding an employer’s responsibility and what workers’ compensation benefits are available can also assist an employee during this trying time.

Work related injuries are simply an unfortunate part of the construction industry. These injuries may require extensive medical care, rehabilitation, and recovery time before an individual is able to return to work or, they could result in disability or worse. While more is being done in North Dakota to prevent injuries from occurring, it is still important for employees to understand what rights and protections are available to them in order to ensure fair compensation is provided for any injuries suffered while on the job.
