North Dakota Drunk Driver Leaves Family Devastated

Accidents caused by those who drive under the influence of alcohol often end in disaster. These fatal car accidents can understandably devastate families in a multitude of ways. A recent accident in North Dakota, believed to have been caused by a drunk driver, has left a family grieving their loss and three small children without their mothers.

Two sisters, ages 23 and 21, were killed in a crash as passengers in a friend’s sports car. The accident occurred after the car left the road, went into a ditch, struck a driveway, and rolled over. The driver, a 51 year old male, was injured in the crash, though his current condition has not been released. Both sisters were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

At this time, the accident is still being investigated. Local police reportedly suspect alcohol to have been a contributing factor in the crash. So far, no charges have been filed in this case.

While this crash may have only involved one vehicle, the driver may still be held accountable for the deaths of these two women if he is found to have been negligent in causing the accident. The surviving family members of the victims are entitled to pursue wrongful death claims on their behalf. Successfully litigated claims in a North Dakota civil court for car accidents like this could lead to compensation for the current and future financial losses due to this incident. It may also provide some sense of closure to this heartbreaking tragedy.
