13 Injured: All Survived Richland County Car Accident
Traveling in a larger vehicle can sometimes give a false sense of security on the road. Sadly, this was the case for the recent Richland County car accident involving a SUV and a 15 passenger van on one North Dakota county road. Late one Saturday evening, a total of 13 people were injured when a vehicle turned in front of the van and the two collided. While — thankfully — no fatal injuries were sustained, car accidents like this occur far too often.
When an SUV driven by an 18 year old made a left turn, it was struck by oncoming 15 passenger van driven by another 18 year old male. The van collided with the front passenger’s side of the SUV. To top it off, the van was carrying a total of 12 passengers, all with teens ranging in age from 15 up to 20.
While the driver of the van was not injured, all of his passengers were. Some sustained only minor injuries which were handled at the scene and others were transported to a nearby hospital to be treated. The driver of the SUV received minor injuries. While no charges filed in the immediate aftermath of the collision, the accident is still under investigation.
There is no doubt that the teens involved in the crash were terrified and while outwardly some of the injuries sustained were minor, the emotional trauma inflicted by these types of car accidents can be serious and long reaching. For North Dakota residents, the road to legal compensation for lasting emotional and physical injury can be daunting. However, successfully navigating a personal injury case can ease the road to healing.
