Head on Collision in North Dakota Results in Fatality

Wrong way accidents often cause massive damage and present a very high potential for serious injury or death because of the extreme forces involved. Since the two automobiles are heading toward one another, the combined approach speed of the vehicles means there is usually little or no time for the drivers to react in time to avoid the collision. Recently, a head on collision on a North Dakota interstate resulted in fatality. The Highway Patrol reported that a man driving the wrong way on a local Interstate lost his life after crashing into oncoming traffic. The man’s car collided with a truck after he crossed the northbound lane driving south.

The car rolled several times after the collision, sliding into the median. The pickup truck skidded across the northbound lane, eventually ending up in a ditch east of the highway. The driver of the car died at the accident scene. The driver of the truck survived and was treated at a local medical center for his injuries.

The police are investigating the accident to learn further details. Auto accidents involving alleged wrong way drivers in North Dakota will be reviewed to find the cause of the accident. If sufficient negligence is determined on the part of the driver of the car, then the driver of the truck could choose to seek compensation for the accident through a claim on the deceased’s estate.
