Fargo Truck Accident Leaves Two Injured but Alive
Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the Fargo truck accident that had a MEI truck veer off the road just days ago. According to reports, the out of control truck slammed into a fence and an electrical pole before driving over an occupied parked vehicle. Injured but alive, the occupant of the vehicle was able to climb out of his crumpled vehicle via the car’s sunroof. He and the driver of the truck were both taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.
Because of the recentness of the truck accident and the ongoing investigation, police have not released the names and ages of those involved in the accident. There are also a lot of unanswered questions surrounding the cause of the crash.
What caused the truck driver to lose control of the vehicle in the first place? Was distracted driving to blame? Was there a mechanical failure that caused the driver to veer off the road? Because of how far the truck travelled after leaving the road, could speed have been a factor?
Finding the answers to these particular questions will be necessary to help the victim determine if he wants to file a civil claim against the truck driver or not. If mechanical failure was to blame, the victim may instead want to take up his complaints with the trucking company for failing to maintain a fleet vehicle.
Although it’s too soon to tell if this is the course of action the victim in this case will take, it’s worth noting that he may be entitled to compensation for his injuries. As many of our North Dakota readers know, injuries caused by someone else’s negligence can result in enormous medical bills and missed work, all of which may be covered by a settlement.
